Poonam, from Borivali, was eager to work and support her family. Her father was the sole breadwinner and she wanted to make life easier for him. While looking for a solution, Poonam’s friend introduced her to us and now she is making the best of her life. But life changed”, says Saraswathi. At 17, Sahil joined Blue Edge, a 6-month employment readiness programme. A traumatic childhood had forced him to grow up too quickly. I love playing with my friends but I could not study like them. I had difficulty reading and writing on my own and there was no one to help me at home.
