Mehek is a student of the Blue Edge Course and comes from a humble family. Her father drives an auto-rickshaw and her mother works in an agarbathi factory. After completing her 12th grade, financial difficulties and family responsibilities forced her to discontinue her education.
But Mehek was not ready to give up.
She convinced her parents to let her join the Blue Edge Course offered by Oasis India. She was an active learner and regularly participated in the classes.
Later, her family moved to the outskirts of the city. Mehek had to travel nearly 18 kilometres each way and spend more than three hours on the road every day to attend her classes. Still, she never missed a day.
After completing the course, Mehek joined Instamart as a Picker to support her family. However, the work environment became difficult and she faced emotional harassment from some of her managers.
With the support of a fellow Blue Edge alumna, Mehek found a new opportunity and joined a leading retail chain as a Promoter.
She also started thinking about her education again. Today, she is in the process of enrolling in a morning college program to pursue her graduation, a goal she once thought was out of reach. Her family now supports her decisions.
Mehek’s story shows that difficult circumstances do not have to decide a person’s future. With support, determination and courage, new opportunities can come even after setbacks.
