HR Cum Learning and Development Coordinator – South


Oasis India ( has been in existence since 1994 and is currently engaged in projects based on education, training, microfinance, health & psychosocial care as well as residential rehabilitation. These projects aim to help people move from being victims of injustice, poverty or other marginalization, to living and contributing  to stable life in community. We are located in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.

 HR Cum Learning and Development Coordinator – South

Department                                        : HR Management and Administration


Reporting to                                       : Regional Head – South with a dotted line to the Learning and Development Manager

Responsible for                                 : HR, corporate connect, staff training, volunteer and intern base and external liaising in the South

Location                                             : Chennai

Key responsibilities:

  • Support HR Department and HR staff across the region and help them work efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide support with staff recruitment, retention, terminations and exit formalities.
  • Counsel and advice to staff on personal and work related issues including providing guidance and direction to Programme Leaders and other staff on human resource related topics.
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, ensure all staff are up to date with the changes to any policies and procedures.
  • Employee Relations – managing absence, disciplinarians, grievances, sickness etc. Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement.
  • Performance Management: Assist HR department with staff performance management processes.
  • Have an updated repository of Job description for all roles across the region along with measureable performance indicators for each role and personnel.
  • Undertake, monitor and evaluate yearly goal setting process for all the staff in the region, which includes guidance to the line managers on the goal settings.
  • Assist and monitor all departments with annual performance appraisal process in the region.
  • Prepare and follow budgets for HR operations and for other related activities in the region.
  • Process HR related forms for staff which includes but is not limited to pay slips, form 16s, Tax declarations (TDS) etc.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance and consistency with office practices and policies and compliance with all employment related laws.
  • Effectively interface with the Regional Head and assist with the people-related and office management activities.
  • Management of employee records and files in the region.
  • Assist with the monthly processing of salaries of all the staff across the region.





  • Training & Development: Providing guidance on development for all the staff in the region. Implementing the training and development agenda; help identify the areas that need attention and improvement.
  • Work with the Regional Head to facilitate staff development and training opportunities in the region.
  • Assist the Regional Head with facilitating internal workshops and trainings related to programmes.
  • Establish a stronger relationship with the corporates in order to access their resources and amplify the impact. 
  • Regulate and manage a strong volunteer base in the region by managing employee engagement activities, internships and volunteering.
  • Assist the Regional Head with external liaisons, especially with coordinating official meetings with the outer world.
  • Assist the Regional Head with booking and arranging travel, transport and accommodation for both domestic and international trips.
  • To carry out other tasks relating to the job description as may be reasonably required by the Regional Head and HR Manager.



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in HR Management or a related field required.
  • 3 – 5 years’ of relevant work experience.
  • Strong liaising skills.
  • Innovative, strategic planning with creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and documentation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
