JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Finance Executive-Bangalore
Department: Finance
Reporting to: Head of Finance & Administration
Responsible for: None
Hours: 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of management accounts for Bangalore on a monthly basis.
- Report to management on a monthly basis, details of income & expenditure, summary of project expenses (month & YTD) and cash flow.
- Responsible to ensure compliance to laws and regulations which govern Societies, Professional Tax, Provident Fund and TDS in both cities.
- Liaise with the audit team for interim and final audits and assists with the preparation of the audit schedule as required.
- Ensure all audit observations are satisfactorily closed.
- Internal reporting to management on a monthly basis on establishment expenses, fundraising & communications (budget vs actual and variance).
- Responsible for donor reporting as per agreed schedules (refer grant letter).
- Quarterly travel to Chennai to oversee general accounting and supervise progress of the accounting staff.
- Regular visits to projects to assess the work of project accounts, petty cash management, identify any process gaps and recommend appropriate intervention plan or measures.
- Liaise with banks for routine banking matters which may arise from time to time.
- Performance appraisal of direct reports twice a year, this should preferably be in writing and measured against set objectives.
- Assist with the preparation of yearly budgets and revisions as advised by management, tracking actual vs budget on a monthly basis and highlighting variances.
- Reconciliation of FCRA and LC accounts of Bangalore.
- Preparation of FC status and consolidation of financial status across the cities on monthly status.
- Ensuring of Asset Management
- To carry out other tasks relating to the job description as may be reasonably required by the Head of Finance & Administration.
Key Result Areas:
- Reports are submitted to the management in a timely and accurate manner.
- All statutory requirements are adhered to and are up to date.
- Good cash flow and cash management practices are in place and followed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Commerce or MBA Finance.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience which should include minimum of 1 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Experience in Development Sector/NGO will be an asset.
- Working knowledge in Tally ERP is a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing in English. Knowledge of Kannada and Tamil preferred.
- Good knowledge of computer – Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
