19th July 2007: Sienna Miller, an
American born British actress, who is in India to raise awareness on Global warming, visited the Bandra slum community empowerment project where she saw the work and spent some time playing with the pre-school children. Sienna and her team also handed out low-energy light bulbs to some of the community people. Oasis India staff will be conducting training and awareness sessions on energy conservation for the community members.

The Bandra slum, situated on the bank of the infamous Mithi River and was swamped with 4 feet of water in July 2005. The tide marks are still visible on some of the walls of houses that haven't been painted over since. Sienna's cause and visit to Mumbai is relevant as with the steady rise in the sea level, in decades to come, the city lies in danger of sinking.
